This is idiocy all around by the DC swamp hydra and their counterparts in Albany/NYC, Sacramento/LA/SF, Austin, Tallahassee, and Springfield/Chicago, but that’s what they all do for decades now. Both sides are going to get cut quite a bit in this, but the Democrats have next to no options left—they already did their moves quietly in 2003 and 2013. This time through it’s the Republicans playing catch-up and they will net out 3-8 more seats depending on how harshly they want to play the game. The demographics will garner the Republicans another 5-10 seats come 2033—Democrats just have to accept that inevitability.
